Our Kennels.

Due to interest shown by a lady much too far away to visit, as many of you are, I have taken some photos of our yards and kennels so that you may see how the Bandogs and Neapolitan Mastiffs  live when at home with us.

Their kitchen.

This is where our day starts, in their kitchen, the garden mulcher is for dicing up their veggies, and does an excellent job, makes them come out like cole slaw, we then can mix them with mince on their mince days, the drum holds dried kibble used as needs be, but most food given is fresh.

Nursery one.

Next port of call is the nursery when we have pups there are four of these, seldom ever all in use for pups, but double as night pens, large litters get extra bottles, mums get at least two feeds per day, at present it is cold, so hutches are up and oil heater is on, depending on how cold it is, we use heaters or heat lights to keep mums and pups warm, in summer the hutches come down and fans or air coolers are moved in, these pens are four foot by twelve foot, and are built under an insulated shed,  mums get at least two runs out a day.

Night pens, these are well away from the nursery area, they are for dry dogs or are used for bitches on heat who are not going to be mated, from these the dogs go out into large runs during the day, or if on heat, get at least two runs a day.

Yard 1

This is one of our day runs, about a half acre in size, half tank for shelter against a sudden shower, in the case of heavey rain dogs are bought into kennels, seldom happens out here, we are going through a very bad drought at the moment, little rain for three years, so paddocks look a bit sad and dry.

Yard 2.

Some Neapolitan Mastiffs in one of the river yards, plenty of trees and very large water trough, which in summer they love to lie in, they also love to go swimming in the river when it runs, most Neos and Bandogs love water.

Sophia, in an insulated shelter in a day yard.

Stone shed houses the kitchen and a winter nursery (not shown) out side is a day yard for pups, with small snug shelter.

Two day yards.

We also have two and a half aces of fenced area where dogs get to run free when we are outside with them, all get their turn to be with us, no dog here is ever just left in a kennel, as is often the case with breeding dogs even in smaller kennels than ours.
